Super Bowl Week

It's Super Bowl week and I just wanted to welcome the millions of visitors to the Number #1 local restaurant blog on Urbanspoon.  I'm sure that for many of you the Fort Worth Convention Center or hotel concierge pointed you this way.  Either way - welcome to Fort Worth and it's least consistent food blogger.

Also, many of you know by now that ESPN chose Fort Worth as its Super Bowl home.  I have good reason to believe that of their 80 hours of broadcast in Sundance Square, 10 will be allocated to local food restaurants.  Now of course many of you are saying, "I can't even find your blog on the internet when I google the Fort Worth Hole In The Wall."  But just remember over the next week, as Steeler fans fill our beautiful city, and our Chili's, and Macaroni Grills, and Pappa's family restaurants - that the restaurants featured here, will be largely ignored by our steel belt buddies.

If you're visiting and want to try out a good local place, look to the left for types of restaurants.  If you're a local and were hoping to hole up in your house all week and bunker down like its the cold war, get out and go to the places you know these people wont be visiting.

Bahn Mi

I need to give a shout out and thanks to my favorite food writer here in town - Chow, Baby.  Never before had I tried the bahn mi - the sliced pork sandwich with carrots, daikon and cilantro - at a Vietnamese restaurant.  I rarely venture away from pho.  However, in a recent article she mentioned that most places sell these sandwiches for about $3.  I'm cheap.  So is that.

Now, thanks to Chow, Baby, I can eat spring rolls, iced green tea, a bahn mi, and still have change to tip the waiter for about ten bucks.
