Patio Update

I have added a "patio" tag for those restaurants with enjoyable outdoor spaces. With the exception of the hurricane without rain we've experienced these last few weeks, patio dining can be enjoyable.

Not included in my reviews, but deserving patio mention are: Railhead, Flying Fish, Blue Mesa, Razoo's, Ocean Rock, Mambo's, and Nona Tata. Note that a recommendation on a patio is not a recommendation on the restaurant. Just the outdoor seating option.

The BBBBQ review will be coming up sometime next week and the Texas Road Trip Review will be up the following week. I know you can't wait...

Throw the Mellow Mushroom in there along with J&J's Oyster Bar. It looks as though Daddy Jack's downtown will have 5-6 tables outside soon as well...

Don't forget Reata and since you aren't counting quality of food you can add 8.0's

I forgot Zeke's had a patio. I think I only crave their food in the winter.

BoomerJack's has a neat little patio.

Planned to go to Nona Tatta's yesterday, but got there too late - it was full and the patio was too cold so went down the street to Palermo's - don't waste your time or money. The only thing I can say is it was filling, but very mundane. $22 plus tip for a single --it was below average food. I am not a food snob, but I can cook better than this.

Me and my woman ate there this past Friday. As the article says, the food is very fresh and tasty. The homemade pasta dishes were great. There were two issues that, sadly, dominated the evening. I am certain they did not salt the water that the pasta was boiled in. This blew mt mind. The subtle flavors of the dish were great, but to have this beautiful, homemade pasta NOT salted almost ruined the dishes. I guess next time i will have to request a salted pasta.

The other issue was the service. For a place that is so confined we were pretty much ignored most of the night. We got our water glasses refilled for the first time after we got the check. And my dinner plate sat, empty, in front of me for 10 minutes. I went ahead and placed it on the counter next to me. And we did not get any question about how our meal was.

Anyway, we’ll go again to give it another shot, if for no other reason there is no other place like it in town. Hope we get these issues addressed next time.

Thanks! so much for this! I love dining outside, and I am searching for a place to go for my birthday.
