Paris Coffee Shop - Best Pie In The Universe

Welp, its official.  Bon Appetit loves itself some Fort Worth and the Paris Coffee Shop.  They recently bestowed the diner with recognition as having one of the top ten pies in the entire Universse.  Top Ten.

That's now two restaurants from Fort Worth, and in particular, the Near South Side, to get recognition from Bon Appetit.  Prepare for an onslaught of Volvos and Land Rovers as the yuppie foodies attack.

Congrats to the Paris Coffee Shop, Ellerbe's and all the other restaurants in Fort Worth, for making this such a food friendly place.

Hey dallas, where is your top pie place on that list?  I didn't see it...  Was it on another page?   ZING!!!!!

It's already crowded at the Paris Coffee Shop. You can get a massive plate of buscuits and gravy there. I haven't tried their pie yet but obviously I should.

In thirty years I have never had a Paris Coffee Shop pie. But I will soon. Thanks.

I love the place because you could shoot a 50's movie using it as the set. If it works why change?

I love pie. I will have to try it. I love the banana split pie at the dixie house cafe.

I've never had their pie either. It seems odd to add a slice of coconut meringue to your order of fried eggs.

Okay we went! Yesterday my DH, 4 year old daughter and I went to the Polar Express at the museum in our jammies. As we left I said, "let's go get pie at Paris Coffee shop... oh yeah, we are in jammies." My husband said we should go anyway. We walked in and the woman at the front says, "Did you just see the Polar Express?" HA!
We got our seats and immediately ordered our pie becuase it was already 1pm and I was worried about them running out. I ordered the coconut and DH ordered apple. She comes back with mine and says, no apple. She tries for 2 more kinds for my DH and no luck. So he orders the egg custard pie. And for him it was too much like flan with the eggy aftertaste.

I on the other hand wanted to lick the plate from my coconut meringue! We went ahead and ordered lunch too which was pretty tasty.

We got one of their giant chocolate chip cookies on the way out the door and that thing was AWESOME!!
