Blue Bonnet Bakery

The Blue Bonnet Bakery, on Camp Bowie is a great place for some fresh baked goods on the way to work. I've never seen a large crowd there and the people there have always been friendly. Definitely a good way to start the day...albeit maybe not so healthy. But this isn't the FortWorthHealthySuggestions blog is it?

They also serve lunch (general bakery fare) and the sandwiches I have tried were pretty good. One thing I really like is they have fresh lemons cut for your tea. I usually will not recommend a restaurant with lemon packets.

Check them out one morning and let me know if you agree.

Lemon packets suck. I said this in the post, but it needs to be said again.

I've been to blue bonnets since I was about six and let me tell you there is no substitute for me. Gingerbread men, cookies, cakes all wonderful.

If you've never tried it get some Salt-Rising Bread. Take it home and toast it, you'll be addicted. But get there early to get some before it's gone. As people usually by 3 to 4 loaves of the stuff. It makes great sandwiches too.

I've had 4 wedding cakes (2 brides and 2 grooms) from Bluebonnets and they will do anything you want. They put most of the snobby shops to same.

Love the place.
